Oh yes good sir there's nothing like being able to "act" like we know what we're talking about. I'm looking forward to that time where I can do that, but as of now we have to learn this stuff and know it because college professors know the difference between well researched knowledge versus a puke up mess of bullshit of a paper.

And no you wouldn't be too old at all, there are plenty of people in my classes that have kids in college or have already graduated. Whether these people were in my anatomy classes looking to end what they're doing now to go into nursing (a little late IMO for nursing at least) or just take courses so it looks better on their resume since those courses pertained to their field, those students I have fun talking with because they provide a perspective that us youngin's can't provide.

Yes, just exactly that. I know that despite my years of management, and the fact that my knowledge mirrors the textbooks precisely and I even know the buzzwords I don't have that lovely little piece of paper you guys are working so hard for...instead, I raised kids, married, divorced and worked my ass off. Now, my ass is broken and I have to show other useful skills...if there were any car stereo industry to turn to, I might head to manufacturing...but I don't have capital to get something off the ground, nor can I do the work I still love as it hurts to work more than about 6 hours a day to earn that capital...plus, the market is radically oversaturated as it is. What to do? Head to communications, wireless, medical tech or E-records...but I lack the deep knowledge expected of a 50 year old...so I head off to sales, something technical, hopefully to earn enough to get something better started.

Oh yeah, the whole time I still owe thousands and thousands of back child support...$120,000 according to the State of California. I think their math may be a bit off. That would be 43 years of support per child. They are 19 and 21, currently. Wise decisions were not common in my earlier life.

Believe it or not guys, your path is the easy way. Now quit whining and get to work!

I have mad respect for the older people in my classes. You can pretty easily at least get an AA outside of the grind..night classes and pretty simple courseload. I would definitely do it. Hell, last time I checked it was $26 a unit. Can't beat that.

Next week. An ME final monday, Calc 2 honors accelerated tuesday (FUCK YOU TAYLOR POLYNOMIALS!) and chem wednesday, and then I'm done.... can't wait. Wrote a badass 14 page paper in 5 hours yesterday, though, so I feel pretty good about that.

Ha. It looks like I procrastinated enough. I have 9 physics lab reports (the whole semester's worth) to write up by tuesday. . . Whoops. I can't wait for the finals though. It signifies an end. Tuesday here I come.

Why is it that Finals are so terrible before you take them?

I'm done with finals and have been hitting refresh on Final Grades. I'm in my junior year of Mechanical Engineering and for the first time my finals were manageable. They do suck ass... but if I didn't know it, it was my fault.

gotta love staying up until 3-4 writing a paper.

Stay on top of your classes. Start when it assigned and you probably won't have to stay up until 3.

mechanical systems design, fundamentals of nuclear engineering, numerical methods, and fluid mechanics. FML.

i never study on my final's day. i burn out days before but chill on the day of the test. i do better that way.

Big +1. Start studying almost a week ahead. On the day of the test, browse forums or watch Family Guy right before the test to reduce stress. Its scientifically proven that stress destroys your memory.

Shut the fuck up, get your goddamn nose in that fucking book and be goddamn THANKFUL you get to work your ass off and get that degree.

+1 Being in college is an opportunity many can only dream of. I dropped out while I was too young to know better and too dumb to care. Now I am working my way through and have a very different view.
