there are several ricers like that in my area, i treat them like they are invisible. most of them are still in high school, and the ones that aren't are pretty much hillbilly ass retards, that still think hondas are "cool".

A drag coefficient of just .28, better than 95% of all other cars made since. Was that just for goofy looks? No, the bitch is that they didn't sell. They are worth big bucks today. Here is one selling for $245,000.

These damn things were FAST, right off the showroom floor.

Yeah, that wing is rice. Sure. Really fucking fast rice.

and all of this shit went down long before you were born, bubba.

3 seconds at 6,000 RPM in park would scare the shit out of you.

          I promise.

          Beware the old skoo.

all this shit did take place long before i was born, and i never said anything bad about the daytona, i said the enthusiasts who make fun of the hondas with the bright colors and the big wings are being a little hypocritical, and as far as sitting for 3 seconds at 6000 rpms in a muscle car scaring me, you honestly dont know me. my parents were dope fiends who would stay up for days at a time. while staying up for days at a time my dad would work on his 1952 gmc pick up, it started life off as a long bed, he shortened the truck, fabed up a foward tilt hood and placed a small block 350 in it while still retaining the stock drums, and not to mention straightpiped. he did this all while spun out on dope. when i was 5ish i use to ride in this death trap. so as far as sitting in a parked car and getting scared come on. but you on the other hand might end up with a heartattack doing some of the shit i do for a living.

well there is a difference, the daytona was purpose built. but the one thing i could not find the use for was the color. does that bright green take from the drag coefficient?

Okay, so tell me this, how does one go about just stumbling apon and resurrecting a completely random, shitty thread?

I mean, did you go in and specifically search for "hontard", or did you just randomly click on one of the last pages in the forum?

To make it worse, it wasn't like you were bumping a thread to add something, you just "me too-ed" it like it was a recent topic. How does that work exactly? If this was 1996, I'd expect "@aol.com" after your name or something.

For one thing, The only cars with big spoilers back then was the Daytona/Superbirds. And they had to be that high so the trunk could open on the street cars. The car was designed for Nascar but the rule was for a # for street cars had to be built so they could run it in Nascar. The spoiler on them wasn't only bolted to the 1/4's like some modern day ricers would do. The wing had bracing that tied it into the car. The 69 Daytonas was baced off of a 68 Charger 500. It also used a 1970 Charger front fenders and hood. Where the 70 Superbird was based off of a 70 Road Runner. They took and redid the rear window area like BMW did with the e30 M3's. And they used 1970 Dodge Coronet front fenders and hood on them.

And for other cars that had wings they wasn't that big/tall as the silly stuff that the "ricers" put on their cars today. For the muscle car guys being hypocritical? Well the most popular color was a med met. green. The bright colors was avalible in 1970 for Mopars (late 69 for some). Ford had a orange as did GM. These colors was avalible on most models that includes non muscle cars (unlike what some people think, not every car made in the 60's/70's was a Muscle car.) The bright colors was an extra cost option.

Now for the slow part. 90% of the ricers you see on the road are slow. It's the ones in the clean non junked up cars that tend to know what they are doing. Muscle Cars slow? Maybe Fords :p... But something tells me you've never been aound muscle cars to know what you are talking about in the first place. Also, a 350 in a 6000 pound car? What was it a 1970 Impala 9 passanger station wagon?

I'll touch on the colors again here. It was the 1960's and 70's, some people seemed to like brighter colors back then. Dodge and Plymouth even had a "Mod Top" option where you got a flowered top and int. inserts. I'm guessing so the flower childern would not be left out of the fun. But then again these things was options. That means you didn't have to order it, in which case most people didn't.

Muscle cars are fun too, i've driven my uncles 1970 cutlass from time to time and its still loads of fun, even with a lowly 350[i think]

i never said that the ricers wernt slow. im not advocating the ricers and what they do. but im sure with a little more engineering they could have come up with a car that was just as fast and more subtle, as far as how did i stumble across this thread i wanted to show my friend the thread with the civic coilovers on an e30(which is not on r3v its om the other forum). as far as not being around muscle cars, i grew up around them. i use to sit around and watch my dad as he built up countless small block chevys, as far as my numbers they are exagerated. you forgot to point out that all small block 350s arent the same, the lt1 for example produced 370 hp and 380 lbft of torque.
