BMW Seatbelt Belts - Anyone Interested

Okay so I know my whole GM/Ford and one import belts have been unpopular on here... I dont blame ya.

Im too lazy to get on a GM forum, and quite frankly I dont want to.

So I have dreamed up the BMW belt.

The belt will have OEM buckles, not sure from which model yet (need input here). The buckle will have to have a smallish receiver and part that goes in.

Belt color will have a few different options, but here comes the cool part.

All Stitching Will Have 3 Separate Stitches in BMW M Colors or German Flag.
This will set these apart from everything else. And of course they will be quality hand sewed at a great price.

$23 shipped or so each is what Im thinking. What are you guys thinking?

It wasn't the fact that it was a GM product that caused your last venture to fail. It was because nobody wants to wear a seatbelt as a belt. I don't think your ROI is going to be very good on this idea.

Have you seen a BMW that has a small-ish belt receiver??? E30 rear seats or maybe 2002 rear seats are about the only ones I can think of, and they arent' that small, and don't really say "BMW" on them anywhere, so no one will know that's what they came from.

But yeah, Mr Copperwheat summed it up pretty well IMHO.

I havn't bought the stuff just yet. Besides, I dont see why an enthusiast wouldn't want to wear one.

Its no more bulky then your average belt buckle.
It is a sign that you're a petrol head, that you can take everywhere.
And they are the most durable belts out there.

I'm not about to dress up like someone from Mad Max and wear car parts. So i'm with the other two guys about this.

i already own a dodge seat belt belt. i'm sure there is some market. i still have 2 cadillac and a gm buckle i got from cash for clunkers i planned on making belts into. i remember years ago they were popular in the bmx/skate boarding scene.

1 in 3 people would wear one.

Thats a fairly good market for a product.

I have about 100 seat belts from a plane. German made, Slim and have the cool flap latch. No one wants american belts on a euro involving site. I was thinking of making them, but did not want to jack your side job.

It depends what they actually looked like. if they had e30 buckles attached I would not be interested.

Thats very neat. Still poll reveals 4 in 10 people would buy one. Thats pretty good, considering most products appeal to a much smaller percentage.

I think your demographic is teenagers. Try selling them online and advertising on Facebook.

eBay might be my best option.

My Mom has great feedback, and invented this thing called a "neckcozy". Yeah heres what it looks like. She has sold like $1200 locally of them, and a few on eBay in the past 2 weeks when she put them up - http://cgi.ebay.com/Orig-NECK-COZY-F...item5ade22aaa5

I think the girls that carried license plate purses and beer cap belts would go for these.
