I let my car warm up till it blows hot air. I let my ninja warm up till the needle starts moving. I've seen the insides of engines and I like to let the oil get hot before I start moving. I don't care what "they" say.

With modern synthetics, and the tech in oil, there's no reason to idle a motor anymore.

The e30 manuals actually say to start it and then go, while staying at a lower RPM until the engine warms up. Idling for anymore than a minute, or for any purpose other than defrosting the windows, is pointless.

"Idling = gasoline-rich mode." Never heard of that mode. I get the concept of it, but come on. I only warm up my car when its below zero, so Im not freezing my ass off for 20 minutes. Otherwise, I just "get in and go" as they say. And no shit driving warms the car up faster, who would have guessed otherwise?

Yeah okay, I want to see them live in -22F and idle their car for 10 seconds before driving in the morning.

If you run a 0W oil. 20W takes a while buddy

It doesnt matter whether its dino or synthetic oil, just the oil weight

So depending on your oil weight.. of course its a thicker mix might take longer to squeeze through the motor. I dont know I just dont trust yahoo news lol

Yes. Currently no oil available is the right viscosity for your engine before it warms up. 0W is as close as it gets. This is why I would be interested to see how these M20's perform on a 0W40 oil.

anyone who trusts yahoo news for car advice is a dimwit

There is no fucking way that your car uses more gas idling for more than 10 seconds than starting back up
