Anything cool to do with old car batteries??

hey that energy storage one is a good idear. now we need to build you a space heater with enough btus to heat the garage efficiently without killing the batteries in minutes.

Use them as the energy storage for a home built wind powered garage heater.

punch a hole in them, drain into a bucket, then proceed to wash your car with it. who knows, it could be the new kool thing to do.

2) put battery(s) in it.
3) put microwave on 'high'.
4) set timer for 10 minutes.
5) push start with a really long stick.
6) see what happens.

The batteries I have are good, or at least they were when they were put on the shelf. I think I could probably slow charge them up to working potential. The point is that I don't have any use for them and it seems like a waste to scrap them.

there's a solution that's not too hard to get which will totally de-sulfate the things.. so if you can get some of that and some fresh acid then you are in business. This is pretty common for larger more expensive batteries for forklifts and such.

personally i'd just haul them to autozone and be done with it.

This. Get a Hydrometer, and some new acid, refill and trickle charge them. For about 15-20 dollars, you have new batteries.
