I use it occasionally to send files to friends. Don't really keep anything on it as I usually delete everything out of the folder after they get it.

Why wouldn't you just email it to them?

I use this a lot, and can really use more space.
Shamelessly riding on this in hope you will use MY referral link instead of OP's.

It's nicer than email because it's more like an open file directory. You can ul/dl thru the web interface whenever, or if you use the desktop client it's just a regular folder that automatically syncs with the online one.. so it's automatically backed up. And then you can access it from a different computer if you aren't at home or whatever.

Example, my bills.xls is in the dropbox folder. I work with this in XL and save like normal. This auto-syncs, the next day at work I can look at it thru the dropbox site and check something.. once you start using it you realize more ways it can be convenient. I used this a lot w/ megasquirt tuning..

                    Yes. Thank you.

                    - I was actually able to get about another 2 gigs free buy using ubuntu and running in a virtual box to sign up for dummy emails and then do the software install on the virtual OS(required for you to get the extra space) - but they keep tabs of your IP, and they shut me down after about 2 gigs.
