Lol at the youngster/non parents making comments. Wagons/estates don't have shit on vans. Vans are designed to take a beating by kids and continue to function. The honda is your best bet for a used minivan.

The GC Windstar has sliding doors from the remote. Like a trunk popper, except the door slides open. Also closes, one the other or both.
Exactly. I didn't know the Windstars had the power sliders option. I'm liking how you're making them sound, I'll look for some and pass them onto the future driver.

I have 2 kids, 5 month + 2.5 years, and my E39 Touring and Subaru Legacy sedan (newest gen so much bigger) fit the bill perfectly. We even lug around the big ass 2 seater stroller with no issues getting it and the kids out each stop we make.

AWD caravan. still a minivan, but at least it works in the winter.

ford e350, 15 passenger. take a couple rows of seats out, and put something like a train table or whatnot in there and still have room and seating.

I've heard that about that line up of slightly different GM brands. I mentioned Ford Windstar to her and she immediately said NO! I think it will ultimately boil down to us going to test drive different models.

My brother had an older Quest when it resembled the Mercury Villager He had nothing but problems with it. May have just been a bad one, not sure.

                      Astro.

                      Fuck all other minivans.

Get Energy urethane sway bar links and mounts, add a set of KYB shocks and do a Vortec 5.7L, it will run away from most any other kid hauler PLUS carry more crap AND cost less to own over a 10 year period.

Add a 3.43 LSD and you will seriously piss off the douche who thinks his Sienna is quick.

                      Closing SOON!

my family has had good luck with the our old 2001 windstar. the only thing that went wrong was that the coolant bottle had a pin size hole. other than that she ran smooth for almost 200k miles.

I agree with Luke. Be prepared though to become an expert at Astro door handle and hinge replacement, and make sure you've got a stereo that's louder than the sound of cheap plastic interior pieces falling off and sliding around on the floor as you drive.

I am with Luke on this one all the way a AWD or even a the 2wd Astro/Safari vans are nearly fucking industrutable, cheap to fix not too hard to work on and are stone reliable.

In conclusion Astro/Safari over all in the van category
