Does anybody get a flushed face feeling after eating almonds, walnuts, or apples?

    Hey bitches,
unbelievably google didn't really help me with this question so I will turn to my 2nd family, as no one in my 1st family shares any of these problems.

So I'm 25 and I'm not allergic to anything. Or I wasn't. Starting a year or two ago whenever I eat almonds especially, but also walnuts and apples, I've had a near instantaneous hot face sensation. No difficulty breathing or swallowing, no itching or swelling like the internet says is common. Just a noticeably flushed and hot face.

Since I'm a man I have been treating this condition by eating as many almonds and walnuts as I can trying to barrage my dumb body and tell it that these things are fine for it. I come asking r3v because I just ate some peanut butter and got the same sensation, which I've never noticed before.

So has anybody experienced this from any foods? Did it get worse or better over time, and does eating a shit ton of the foods that do it to you make it better or worse for you?

    Thanks bitches
    -Sam

Nope, but it sounds like your developing an allergy to it.

    Sucky.

It's not uncommon to develop allergies later in life.

A 60+ yo woman in my office nearly died after eating a couple almonds a few months ago. She had never had any problems with them, but now has to carry an Epi-Pen.

I'd consult an Allergist, and lay off anything that is giving you those symptoms. Eating a ton of them isn't going to "condition" your body into accepting them.

Thx for good advice, I leave my E30 parts collection to r3v if I meet my maker through overconsumption of aforementioned tree nuts in the near future, which I will undoubtedly continue to do.

Just occured to me I'm getting my 1st physical in 7 years next week cuz I'm about to lose my insurance. I should ask my doctor eh? eh????

^ post pictures of said parts to be willed before we give further advice.

Guys go to the doctors. Get examined. Take care of yourself. It's not manly and cool to be 45 and die of a heart attack or a cancer that could have been screened for. If something ain't right please just go.

my mom developed a very severe wheat/gluten allergy at around 47. If she eats one cracker, or if a crouton even touches her salad she becomes violently ill for the next 24 hours or so.

Good luck with it, watch what you eat.

Sam, I get the throat-closing thing and a little bit of a flushed feeling as well so you're not alone. It didn't start until a few years ago (at least with almonds) so it sounds like we're in the same ballpark. Good on you for getting the physical, I thought I had one more year before my insurance ran out and missed the opportunity to do a lot of stuff.

Almonds are drubes. Like a peach pit. I'm allergic to tree nuts and for the longest time stayed away from almonds thinking they were nuts. So I can't myself put those three into a category with each other. Time to make an appointment with an immunologist.

I once had an allergic reaction to eating a fresh Kiwi fruit when I was in the Caribbean. Fresh fruit is more acidic than the stuff that shows up at the grocery store after being transported and processed for a week+.
My tongue swelled up really bad. Allergies are whack :\
