Not a climber per-say, but I do a lot of backpacking. Mostly lightweight 3-day trips 'round the PNW. Looking foreward to maybe hitting the three sisters in OR this summer...

I went indoor rock climbing with the GF last week, and it was a blast! I've never been so tired and sore in my entire life, 4 hours of non stop movement. I bet its even better out in nature :)

Ive been climbing for about 20 years now and just about all types; alpine, sport, trad. Im getting to the point where i want to bag more big peaks ragher than a ton of crags, although i still love climbing. A mix of both is the best though. This spring my cousin and i are going to do Mt. conness, just east of touloumne. Big hike in and a nice classis trad rout to the top. Last year we spent 2 weeks in camp 4 in Yosemite and did a bunch of the classic Yos routes. Its a culture and lifestyle you cant get away from.

It's something I'd like to get back into. I went when I was in high school about a dozen times. Most of it was at climbing gyms. On a trip to Yosemite, I got to climb an actual rock. It was through some beginner-to-rock-climbing thing my friend found out about.

I do a lot of backpacking, I plan on taking a mountaineering course this spring so I can start bagging peaks. South Brother is what I have my sights on right now.

It is that good outdoors. Much better when the handholds aren't color coded, imho. Having a girl along never hurts either.

I also wear vibram 5's (the KSO model) instead of those horribly uncomfortable climbing shoes. I thought I might not be able to get away with it, but they work great. They're kind of expensive, but after using them, I've decided they're worth it.

jasonsnoddy- Make sure to hit up Mount Pugh and lots of the mountains on the Mountain loop highway! there are some great climbs there! And before doing Olympus and Rainer i would suggest doing Mount Adams, its a great mountain to learn self-arrest and get expirence with cramp-ons! And its a beautiful mountain!
