do a random search of the things that happened lets say... 50 years ago.. 40 years ago... these disasters and "crazy" things aren't new. people are just more connected in the world today than they ever were before so people are more aware of these "crazy" events and natural disasters.

lulz, sounds like a true-blue Aussie to me. I remember back in 2009 when the indonesian tsunami hit the news down there and there were warnings out for all the beaches, several of my buddies took an eskie down to the beach and waited for it to come in lol. They said the beaches were PACKED with people getting drunk and wanting to see the wave.

I'm from where hurricanes frances and jean hit dead on, and honestly, its not THAT bad. If you know your house won't hold up, evac and get somewhere built better. I waited it out, other than no power, its just fucking boring.
