CLIFFS: Met first boyfriend at work, he took me to France & Switzerland twice, been together for 3.5 years. We're 5 years apart. We have lots in common about life, activities, politics, religious beliefs, ways of thinking. Some differences like, he's a bit more high-strung and moody than I am. He also has a great career, while I am still in the process of finishing my bachelors.

How old are you TimKninja? How many other long relationships have you been in? You are probably still young and have plenty of time to find other girlfriends. Maybe you can take this as a learning experience for what kind of traits you do and don't like in a girlfriend. You should join some clubs and go out to parties and other places to meet more people.
I've been with my boyfriend for about 3.5 years and he's pretty much my first boyfriend. There's been a couple other dudes that liked me and had asked me out but I wasn't interested. I'm almost 24 and he's 29. I met him where I used to work as a barista and in the cafe at Intel. He used to come by and get coffee. One day, we both started talking about kayaking and how we want to go kayaking again. At the end of the day, he came by and gave me his email address and the name of a place to go kayaking. So I emailed and then called him and we went.
We have a lot in common I think. He's fun to hang out with and go do stuff with. We both like camping, cars, hiking, biking, the same types of music, video games, walking, doing spontaneous things, cooking together, and just doing things together. We also have a lot of the same views on things in life, politics, religion, and future goals. There are some differences though, such as him being a little high-strung and moody. He gets mad at things easier than I do. I'm super laid back and don't get mad easily at things, so I am slowly teaching him and telling him how to not get mad at little things and to not let others make you mad. You are in control of your own happiness!
We also teach each other a lot about different things and are able to talk to each other about our feelings. I'm not entirely sure if I truly love him. I don't say "I love you" very often at all. He says it more often. I just don't know if I know what love is yet. Maybe it's because he's my first real boyfriend and I haven't experienced love yet?
If we ever break up, it's going to probably suck a lot because of how long it's been. I've never experienced breaking up with anyone, so I'm not looking forward to it! I hope it never happens. Has anyone ever heard of marrying your first boyfriend/girlfriend? My dad was my moms first boyfriend and they've been married for all of my life and before.
