Was anyone else into comic cards as a kid?

My parents gave me a box of my childhood stuff last week. Included was my comic card collection - which in the past 18 years came out of the binder and a bunch of the cards fell out of their sleeves and got damaged. I had the complete marvel masterpieces set from 1993 with all of the holograms and foils plus the 1993 marvel universe set - also with all of the holograms. I got kind of bummed out that my complete sets were damaged - so i ordered 2 new, unopened boxes of each. It's going to be kind of cool having 144 unopened packs of comic cards from my childhood. Maybe I shouldn't open them?

I still think this set was really classy and cool to look at.

I have about 7 or 8 boxes of cards including marvel and g.i. joe cards that I moved last night. When the economy gets better I wouldn't mind selling a few, I am sure I have a couple worth some money.

Wow.... I remember those. I sold them while managing a comic book store ('92-'96). Never collected them myself... MTG cards, on the other hand... still have boxes of those damn things...

I had a fucking mega-collection. I had all the bendables (anyone collect those?) I could find.. sometimes I payed upwards of $20 per card. I was pretty young (probably 9-13).

I held onto the cards for years, hoping to one day pass them on or sell them (because comic characters are always going to be fucking badass), but when I joined the Army my mom put my shit in storage, forgot to pay her months rent, and the fucking asshole manager sold all her shit.. including my comic cards.

              Live, love, lose.. life.

Loved the Marvel Masterpieces but had very few of them. The ones that stick out in my mind are Red Skull and Iron Man.

The series I had the most of was the Marvel 1992 cards. I still have them at my parents house somewhere. Pages and pages in a neon-multicolored Trapper Keeper binder. Ahh, the 90s.

I think I have that same set somewhere.
Like 200 cards in a clear box.
Are they worth anything? I think it was like 20$ back then.
And I have a signed Spiderman comic.

Shit, I need to find that stuff before it rots somewhere.

My quest to restore my collection has gotten a bit out of control. I now have the complete masterpieces series for 92, 93 and 94 - in addition to my now complete set of 1991 marvel universe. This is aside from the 4 unopened boxes. I think I'm done now.....

I had that set in the first post. I was in elementary school at the time, so these were basically the coolest thing ever.

                          Hologram cards, fuck yeah!

Now that I think about it, the only comic cards I have are Sandman and The Crow, although the latter doesn't really count since I bought the set complete. Of course, working at a comic book store that sold individual cards made collecting a set of anything pretty easy.
