Guess you haven't looked around on the FFR site then. I believe the kit is right around that price.

And they probably suck pretty bad, you know, since NASA created a spec series for them. That has been quite successful the last 10 years.

you can go cheaper and cooler in my opinion. 1st gen miata, mustang 5.0 engine. they sell the kit for this somewhere, i think flying miata. either way, you can get a 1st gen miata and build your 5.0 cheap then you have a beast.
