If you've ever wanted to design your own car.....

.....at least the looks, here's your chance!

Maybe I should build one of these instead of an E30?

An extra 30k just to have a greedy shelby licensing seal of approval on it? How do you justify that. Make sure you add a qt. of that special ZMAX in there too because you know.. if it didnt work, he wouldnt say so.

If I ever got a kit car it would be a Lotus 7 with a supercharged Toyota motor.

Guess you haven't looked around on the FFR site then. I believe the kit is right around that price.

And they probably suck pretty bad, you know, since NASA created a spec series for them. That has been quite successful the last 10 years.

            Please go troll elsewhere.

Yes, if only I can figure out how to make it not sound like a Subaru

Sweet! FFR keeps getting better and better! I love this company.

J/C, you are off a little bit, but only 7k... From FFR website.
                    Mk4 Complete Kit $19,990

The Mk4 Complete kit gives you everything you need to build your car, in one big package. The only things you’ll need are the engine/transmission/rear end, wheels/tires, and a paint job.

When we say everything, we mean it. We include little things like wipers, hood hinges, and we even powder coat the chassis standard. We make it easy for you to use the engine of your choice with a list of available (no charge) headers and motor/trans mount assemblies.

Alyk - how does 23k less sound? You can build one hell of a motor for 23k... Hell, a decent motor can be built for 7k

But as much as I like the Cobra style, I'm gonna have to agree with ColdAccord. Those GTMs are f'n badass!

And I am very intrigued with the Subi project. I wonder how long it will take for someone to figure out how to make it AWD.....

There is also one of the former owners/founders of FFR is doing a kit that transforms a mk4 jetta into a pretty nice looking rear engine/rear wheel drive car:

you can go cheaper and cooler in my opinion. 1st gen miata, mustang 5.0 engine. they sell the kit for this somewhere, i think flying miata. either way, you can get a 1st gen miata and build your 5.0 cheap then you have a beast.

Flyin Miata has a conversion kit for LSx based engines.

But then you're still driving a Miata.

This is what I'm building next. Speedster kit car with an STI motor. It'll sound like this:

                              And move like this:
