    Alternatives to Vuze

Vuze is slow. I hate it. What should I get instead?

    As in the torrent program?

    I like uTorrent personally.

uTorrent. Super lightweight, and very simple, basic interface.

uTorrent - kills my internet connection after it's done. I think it's opening up too many connections at one time - I'm sure I just have to tweak it, but vuze/azures(?) never did.

uTorrent. Used to use Azureus then switched to uTorrent. MUCH faster.

Download speeds will be pretty much the same with both if they are set up properly.

I had more problems with Vuze doing that than utorrent, I'd say tweak the settings a bit.

Both to be honest. Not really sure why the DL speeds are better, but they are.

How does one tweak the download speeds. Didn't even know one can do this?

Also if your internet connection is dropping because of too many connections you might want to look at the rest of your network. Some routers handle high numbers of connections better than others.

Yea. I've got two wrt54g's running. One with ddwrt in a wireless repeater configuration what-cha-ma-call-it. I'm sure that doesn't help anything.

Personally I hated my WRT54G, it greatly deteriorated over time and would easily crash with too many connections. Also I noticed a pretty big improvement in the general loading times of web pages when I upgraded. Everything was much "snappier" and quicker to respond.
