I've been doing a little shad fishing here in town. It's my first time going after shad and it's definitely different than what I'm used to. Pretty exciting though, tight lines all day. Sadly, there's a moratorium on keeping any herrings in VA this year, so no tasty fish fry for me.

Anybody else enjoying the spring run?

I have managed to actually catch something lately, only carp though so not really pic worthy. Still good for the sport of it. Would just be nice to catch some murray cod or yella or something worthy of eating

Yes, fished my whole life, my pops was a commercial fisherman. No pics of anything scanned, but if its saltwater, and on the east coast Ive probably snagged it!
From the NE quahoging, crabbing, lobsters- To Tuna, striped bass, fluke, flounder.. All the way to the florida keys- Diving for spiny lobster, wahoo, mahi, snapper, grouper. Very into it.

But Im at the point where Id rather be working on my e30, and my sons only 2. When he's somewhere around 5-6, it will be time to get a little whaler or something, get back into it.

Have just moved to a Riverside town ion Northern Vic which is known for good fishing but because of the floods it has washed black water into the river deoxygenating the water so the fishing is crap at the moment. Hopefully as soon as I can convince my 2 year old boy to stop throwing rocks into the river and the water improves I will be able to post some pics of some nice Murray Cod and Yellowbelly :)

Niceee. While the PNW does offer a lot of fishing it doesn't offer much Pike fishing or Muskie. I would loveeee to drive over to the South for some real Large Mouth fishing and stuff.
Sidenote: My company sells stuff to G-Loomis and Lamiglas to help them make their poles. :D
