After further analysis of that fight scene posted by OP, check out 1:47. Pretty terrible punches being thrown for "blackbelts"Leave a comment:

I have a few friends in Wing Chun, they all tell me that after a while every other martial art is inferior. Also, don't take Wing Chun if you like to spar.Leave a comment:

A little over a year, love it.
Newsflash: Wing Chun is more mainstream than you think.i have wanted to take martial arts since i was a kid but my mother never had the time or money to take me. so since i make good money now i figured i would go. and Wing Chun was chosen NOT just because I saw it in a movie but I wanted to do something that wasnt main stream.Leave a comment:

I have had my blue belt in BJJ for a few years now. I train at Capital MMA in the DC area, we get regular visits from Royce, Rodrigo and Royler Gracie amongst other great MMA fighters and bjj practitioners. I really enjoy it but have been out with an injury for a few months, hoping to get back in soon.
Self plug, pic of Rodrigo Gracie wrapping my blue belt on after Royce selected me for promotion. Summer 2008.
I know I look like an idiot, I was tired from sparring for an hour after a 3 hour seminar.

Royce when I first started. Again with the retarded look on my face.

Finally me at my first competition with the owner of my school. I got 3rd after winning 3 fights and losing my last one, I was so gassed out on the last fight.

He took elements from all kinds of things and tweaked it into his own form, which he called Jun Fan Jeet Kun Do. That being said, Savate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kyokujin Karate, and Sambo are much better defensive forms of martial arts. DOn't take a form just because you saw it in a movie and you think it's cool.Leave a comment:

The best way to fight 10 guys at once is NOT AT ALL.

First Peninsula Muay Thai, then B Street Boxing and now Bay Area Boxing for BJJ. My BJJ coach and his wife got their black belts from Ralph Gracie. Kyokujin Karate was when I lived in Germany for a while. Judo was under Willy Cahill.
selfless plug - 2nd place, Ultraheavyweight Class (221+ lbs ) Jiu Jitsu by the Sea

I took Kyokujin, Judo, Muay Thai, and now in BJJ. My fiance did Goju Ryu for 10 years, where as I've been training off and on for 20 and she can hang with me, and I usually get welted up if I try and take her down.Last edited by Rau; 03-08-2011, 11:21 PM.Leave a comment:
