Just reposting an email, don't know if true. you can argue all the points but untill there is actual test data (where to get that, I don't know) both people can be right :)
what I got from the slow rate was to minimize gas disturbence which in return minimizes the evaporation surface area. kinda like pouring a beer or champagne. If you dump it in you lose alot of beer to foam, tilt glass pour slow=minimal foam. so minimal evap. does that matter idk.
I think it's so insignificat that it doesn't matter.

Thats for 95 you dope.
Further analysis of the thread has informed me that their octane ratings are not the same as us fat, lazy, basement dwelling americans. Sorry, carry on.Leave a comment:

While I feel for you on a personal level.
Blame your GOVT for that. You are an Oil producing nation. There is no reason for your pricing to be that high other than the TAXATION levied by your govt.
I have no sympathy for anyone that bitches about fuel being that high in Europe, you have all brought it on your selves at the voting booth.
Never fear though we will be in the same boat soon enough :(
Gulf coast of TX has like 40 of them. Cushing OK has many, SoCal has about 12 that I know of, MI has few, NJ is fucking full of them (thats why it smells like jesery) My state has 4 the dakotas have many, LA MS and AL have a shit load of them Chicago has many in the area as well.
Shall I go on ????Leave a comment:

You might have a lower evaporation rate per minute but you're spending more time with your fuel cap open while pumping so lower rate x longer time and you end up with the same thing. Except you just wasted another 5 minutes at the pump. When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode[/U] If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
As Cartman would say, "dumbass!"

are you sure, these plenty of refiners here in socal.
I live near this plant
Torrance Refinery at a Glance...
Employs nearly 800 people
Covers 750 acres
Processes an average of 150,000 barrels of crude oil per day
Produces 1.8 billion gallons of gasoline per year
Produces nearly 10 percent of the gasoline that is refined in California, most of which is sold in Southern California.
Provides jet fuel to Los Angeles International Airport via pipeline
Other products of the refining process include liquefied petroleum gases, diesel fuel, petroleum coke and sulfurLeave a comment:

i always fillup in the middle of the day.
i always put it in fast mode.
i always wait for my tank to be empty to fill up.Leave a comment:

I wanna see how many people were trolled into standing at the pump 3x as long at "low mode" lolLeave a comment:

we don't have ANY refinerees in america anymore, why? as cartman would say, "the tree hugging hippies made us get rid of them"Lol  Something like that, yes.
They are talking about doubling the prices, 'cause of the pollution in the wintermonths.
I want to fill 98 octane, but it's even more expensive. My Mini always get 98, though.
Who pumps the oil out of the North Sea? We do. Who's got the most expensive gas? We do. Makes no sense.
so we ship our oil else where, then it gets refined, then shipped back!
that is dumb!Leave a comment:
