Don't be an ass, you of all people should know that your leaders are not necessarily who you voted for nor are they who you want to be in power.please see this. Disregard the part about a producing nation as you are not.

Otherwise next time you complain about ANYTHING Obama is doing I'm going to remind you that you brought it upon yourself at the voting booth.Leave a comment:

Quit your bitching americans!
Fuel is 2.24/L here. (Premium 95RON) (had to stop using 98RON due to cost) costs over $110 to fill my tank from fuel light.Leave a comment:

Further reading into the thread enlightened me with information that I was not aware of prior to posting my comment.

I wonder how much this is? A teaspoon? Lets see PV=nRT...errrr....Crap - that's for gasses. What's the calculation for liquid expansion?
Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.
ΔV = βV0ΔT
The thermal expansion of gas-o-lean is 950 β (10−6 K−1) (http://physics.info/expansion/)
So if the temp changes 5 degrees between day and night (underground, I think that's fair) you'd have a change of filling up a 14 gallon e30's tank....
day 50 degrees Fahrenheit = 283.15 kelvin
night 55 degrees Fahrenheit = 285.927778 kelvin
Lets just say 5 degrees K.
0.00095(1/K) * 5K = 0.00475 (no units) time 14 gallons = 0.0047 gallons difference between day and night.
Or about 3 teaspoons. Yea, I'm totally going to do that to save 1.9 cents..Last edited by george graves; 03-16-2011, 03:32 PM.Leave a comment:

Up North, where everyone is smart and polite our gas temperatures are kept at a constant 15 degrees (C obviously). Sooooo. There?Leave a comment:

We're at $3.29/gal here. It went up about $0.30 in the past month.Leave a comment:

thank our govt and the EPA. there were several that were built in the late 70's that never ran a barrel because of the EPA restrictions that were passed about the same time as completion and it was cheaper to not fire them up and moth ball them. NY state has 2 of those IIRCLeave a comment:
