Anyone have exp. with the Yamaha Vino 125?

A local seller has one for sale for only 1000 and it's a 2005.

I have a motorcycle license, but considering the harsh downtown traffic, I'd rather go with a scooter given their CVT trannies. All the hills in downtown Vancouver has me a little scared too (not that much exp. in slow traffic on inclines and declines).

the bike has 17kms on it (10600miles). Is it almost time for a motor rebuild?

    thanks in advance

The CBR 125 is a pretty good bike, and you can find them 08+ for like $1500-2000

Edit: Didn't know the Vino was a scooter, so nevermind

Hahaha! yeah, it's a scooter. I have a motorcycle license, but consideirng the harsh gas prices out here ($45 to fill the e30 from 1/2 a tank of reg. every week), I was considering some alternative transportation to taking the bone shaker.

I've considered some sport bikes, sure they are "fun" but I want something that I dont' need to worry about the clutch on the steep inclines out here (not very experienced, and would rather prefer something I dont' need to worry about spending too much on for gas and maint. Not to mention something I can get the GF to ride, knowing she doesn't have a motorcycle license.

So I bit the bullit today and bought it. I purchased it for 1000 with a helmet and full maint. performed last fall (working on this thing has gotta be cheaper and easier than any car I've owned). Bike has about 10k miles on it...goes pretty well and gets about 100mpg's. 5 bucks will easily get me a week's worth of commuting in downtown Vancouver, and given the upcoming spring, this thing's gonna be a blast down by the English Bay and Stanley Park.

For 1000 bucks and next to nothing for insurance, I'd be stupid to NOT purchase this thing! It saves so much money in gas and maint. As for the e30/ Gonna keep that bad boy for weekly grocery trips :)
