I have two guys of my own, they are like dogs! the first guy i got is a maine coon also, big ol' guy. skittish as all hell. my second is still a kitten, and he's the lap cat of the two. both are rescues from the local shelter, and i love to watch em wrestle round and play.

if something happened to either of them i would be clinically depressed since i was the one to pull em from their raggedy, cold cages when i adopted them.

Sorry to hear that, we have an oversized traditional cat. Last decade I had a Mainecoon best cat ever basically a domesticated Bobcat.

But he always ate recycled paper.

My sister's cat Hipo died without warning over the summer. If she was on your lap, and you pet her she'd pet your arm back with her tail.
