How hard is it to actually beat a 600cc bike? I don't ride, never have, but I ran against a CBR600 (rolling start from 40mph to 100mph) and he couldn't get past me. He held up well and I only had him by a couple car lengths but afterwards he rolled up beside me and asked what the hell kind of car I was driving, haha. Does he just suck at riding or could a 320hp E30 legit beat one?

My 06 600rr had the most power starting around 30mph in first gear, which would carry me up to 75ish, and would do so very quickly. Doing a couple pulls with my friend in a 300whp supercharged mustang, I would get the jump from a 30mph roll, and he would catch up around the time I had to shift to 3rd. From there the bike really started losing power and the mustang was still in his powerband.

A properly ridden 600cc sportbike should put down 1/4 mile times in the low 11s. The newer bikes, front strapped and with a good rider are into the 10s and the literbikes are in the 9s.
The guy isn't even banging clutchless through the gears, you lose so much time not doing that on a bike.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

^^ very true, the weight and height of a rider are very important. Also, a lot of riders when accelerating dont really get as low as they could/should to reduce drag. When shooting for a top speed run, I would typically slide my butt all the way back in the seat (after I was out of 1st/2nd gear) to get myself as low as possible.
I rode my 600rr for about 8k miles with the stock windshield. After buying a double bubble windshield I noticed a HUGE difference. A lot less wind resistance = quicker acceleration, higher speeds according to Sport Rider magazine, and better MPGs too ;)2007 Range Rover Sport S/C
