If extreme wide sweeping anti piracy/ file sharing legislation is ever passed wouldn't being a member of a group of file sharers make you an easier target for getting arrested/sued? Being an active member in such a group announces to the world that you participate in filesharing. IMO using public torrent sites diwnloading only every now and then WITHOUT creating an account on the site, immediately stopping a torrent from seeding when it is finished, copying the downloaded files into a different folder with a name unrelated to the torrent and then deleting the torrent from your client and the data from the original download location is a safer more anonymous way to download stuff. Because there is little to no hard proof that you downloaded the files. anonymity and deniability are comforting.

Isohunt used to be great until their lawsuit, now it's only a search engine fir US users. Btjunkie is currently my #1 site, can't recommend it more especially for music. PB I don't use much anymore but I do occasionly.Comment
