How a "best movies" thread can exist for over a year with no mention of any of those is nothing short of amazing.
    There, I fixed it.

    Cool thread.

I watched Contraband two nights ago. It's actually a remake of a Norwegian film of the same name I watched last year.

My favorites (there are way too many to list)
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (UK)
    Scarface
    Chopper (AUS)
    The Warriors
    Dead Presidents
    The Usual Suspects
    True Romance
    Raging Bull
    ....and many many more.

Contraband was "meh" at best. And I usually like Marky-Mark.

    A Serbian Film

Such a fucked movie...but such good acting, writing, atmosphere, etc.

    from wiki:
It tells the story of a down-on-his-luck porn star who agrees to participate in an "art film", only to discover that he has been drafted into a snuff film with child rape and necrophilic themes...

It was banned by a court in San Sebastián, Spain for "threatening sexual freedom" and thus could not be shown in the XXI Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror (21st Horror and Fantasy Film Festival).[5] The film was shown at an adults-only screening at the Spanish Sitges Film Festival during October 2010. As a result, the festival's director Ángel Sara was charged with exhibiting child pornography by the Spanish prosecutor who decided to take action in May 2011 after receiving a complaint from a Roman Catholic organization over a pair of scenes involving the rapes of a young child and a newborn.[6] The charges were later dropped.[7]

The film was banned in Norway after two months of sales due to violation of criminal law sections...
    You've been warned.

The movies all red blooded american males must see:
    Newman in-
Cool Hand Luke (eggs, what we have here is a failure to communicate)
Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid (Redford, and not because of his little festival in the mountains)
    The Sting (Gleason)

    McQueen in-
The Getaway (Just plain wrong for anyone to think of Baldwin in relation to this great film. Ali Mcgraw beats the lips off Bassinger as a Bonnie I would like to Clyde)
Bullitt (Anyone here into cars? There's this one scene...)
The Thomas Crowne Affair (remington Steele can bl*w me. Faye Dunaway)

    Brando in-
The Last tango In Paris (Get me a stick of butter)
Apocalypse Now (Napalm in morning, Sheen, Hoppper, Duvall. Meltdown of production budget iconic hollywood tale.)

    Peter Sellers in-
The Party (Stupid Funny. Birdy Num Num)

    Nicholson in-
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (Nurse Ratched had it coming)
    Chinatown (Masterpiece, period)
easy Rider (nyeet nyeet nyeet! indian. Firewater! Hopper)

Only watch half of this trailer as the its has some big spoilers in it. Actually I'd not recommend watching the trailer at all.

The movie is on Netflix now, not sure for how long though.

im going to check this out only because i like movies like this.
