        Since when has it been down? I just turned my PS3 on. right now and nothing, was looking forward to some Battlefield, oh well.

            Since Wednesday. Talked to my Sony rep and it should be up by midday Saturday. Some server issue from a potential Anon hack.

                        straight up here's how it is.
                        Xbox is better even tho you have to pay for XBL, it's worth it, the quality of the online play the updates, the RELIABILITY.
                        where as ps3 is a better system, but lacks so much more in the online department, them having psn for free was a terrible idea, charging for internet playing is a good idea because it creates funding for the online capabilities and servers and all that nonsense... thats where ps3 lost the race to xbox...
                        psn sucks even when it is working.

                                As an owner of both...XBL owns PSN hands down. The small monthly fee is worth the faster service.

                                It's like saying Netzero 56k is better than DSL because I can still go to the same websites, and its free.

                                            LOL, the only two outages I have ever experienced on PSN were due to this Anon thing while XBL seems to be down for maintenance on a regular occasion. I'm sure there is more content on it since its the more mature space but I dont care enough for that content to pay a fee and give up my blu-ray player and dvd upscaler.

                                            If you arent someone who lives on their gaming console the argument is moot because the PSN does what is needed. You can get content and play games online, which is all most need.

                                                            I can live without the online PS3 stuff, but it would be great to not have to hook up the puter to the bigscreen. I really got hooked on the Netflix through the PS3.

                                                            eh. It's free, and I've never had problems before.

                                                            (I'm hoping it STAYS free, but I think those days are numbered.)
