^ I know all about the set screws. I can take my leg all apart and put it back together...

You must be in this field.

But my prosthetist works for Children's hospital here in Seattle. He is GREAT, absolutely excellent, but kids generally HATE that fake ass covering bull shit. Thats why he doesnt do it.

Gottcha, Here's a link for an AK foam cover, easy to make one yourself, hell you could cut it into pieces just to cover the knee ( to constant pinching wears them out ) and get better life out of your pants.

Tell those kids to quit bitching, they could be set up with one of those ugly assed clunky exoskeleton legs.:D

I don't work in the field, had some friends 25 years ago that did and I hung out in the shop drinking beers while they made legs. I still remember all that shit. Hell with a little coaching I could probably still make one.

For a clean look just use the shift boot off your car ( or make something like it out of some heavy wt cordura ), slide it up the pipe and velcro it to the socket.

Well today at school the chintzy string pulled out of the duct tape mount at the top, no big deal. Thats what prototypes are all about!

So for the real deal, I am going to use a nice piece of seat belt fabric. It is bendable, looks nice, I have some already, and it is STRONG. I just now thought that, I need to be able to kneel on this too.

My Mom is sort of a seamstress, I am going to have her sew for me the string/whatever onto the piece of seatbelt, that wont break loose! I still do not know how to attach the cover to the bottom of the leg, duct tape is fine but not very neat.

I can make these to sell on ebay/amputee forums! It is sort of an universal design!
Your leg is engineered with much finer quality materials than my car. lol

Made V2.0 this morning, very much improved, and uses seat belt webbing for the cover. Pics after school

Not sure if I would call ductape and string durable;), but cool to see that you're not just whining about the problem, but trying to fix it

Well mine may not be AS durable. But cost to performance, ownage. We all know any company, especially for a specific application like this would charge $100 for such a thing

they'd charge a hell of a lot more than that, it's the medical industry

make it, patent it, market it, prof-it
