Westfield man faces rape charges
WESTFIELD — A Westfield man must allow police to photograph his torso and collect DNA evidence from his genitals, after he was arraigned in court on charges of raping and savagely beating a 14-year-old girl.
Anthony M. Turner, 37, of 5 Meadow Street, was ordered by Judge Philip Contant to submit to police as they collect evidence in connection with the Friday incident that sent the girl to the hospital with what police called “serious facial injuries.”
Assistant District Attorney Colleen Martin told the court that the alleged victim told police she bit her attacker on the stomach, and Martin told Contant that police want to photograph the defendant’s torso to see if the bite mark was evident.
Martin told the court that the incident began Friday afternoon when the 14-year-old girl told police that Turner came to the Union Street apartment of Turner’s ex-girlfriend and infant child where she was babysitting on Friday, May 6. Turner does not live with the child’s mother."
I heard he broke almost every bone in her face. The local paper has more of an in depth report. He faces 5 different charges.
