    Good movies for widescreen?

After getting my surround sound system up and running, and hooking it up to my new tv, I'm looking for some good movies to watch on my new setup that SOUND good too.

Recently the GF and I watched "walk the line" and it was AWESOME, the bass really made that movie come ALIVE

I tried other movies like BTTF and stuff, but they don't really do the system justice.

    any other recommendations?

I mean... any action movie with a big budget is going to sound awesome. The good thing about having a great surround sound is that no matter what you watch, the system will make it soudn infinitely better than you thought.
I run a Yamaha setup as well thats somewhat higher end but a bit older. Digital coax still rocks!

King Kong....love it. The T-Rex/Kong fight scene is epic.

I'm an avid movie watcher and currently inventory over 950 movies at the moment. After turning to blu ray, HDMI, and Optical I will never look back. I used to do the original Matrix to test sound. The movie has a very diverse range frequency levels. Tron:Legacy on blu ray is EXCELLENT for sound as well. District:9(blu ray) fight scenes are great for sound. Transformers, 1 or 2. Abyss is a great classic. Spartacus(first season) on blu ray gives excellent picture and sound. And last, but certainly not least, Avatar on blu ray. I have yet to find a movie with as good quality for picture. James Cameron fucking rocked that shit for home theater enthusiasts.

Oh and the gun fight in Heat. Never, EVER gets old. ;)

also: Bladerunner looks absolutely fantastic on a modern home theater setup

I second that vote on Saving Ryan's Privates. the shells coming overhead when they are on the beach are cool. makes you want to put on a steel pot and hunker down.

Tron Legacy. Even not in 3D (which I prefer, fuck this stupid 3D trend), it will give your audio system a work out and the visuals will blow your mind.

Porn is always fun to watch on a home theatre system.

Can't go wrong with Transformers if you're looking for a surround sound experience.

Battle Los Angeles will kick major ass if they design the sound right on blu-ray.
