I went to the local cemetery today on my bike (1507cc cruiser with stock pipes) to visit my pops for a little bit and to leave some flowers, and as I rolled up I was being very careful to keep the noise down, trying to not disturb any other visitors. When I got the back of the cemetery where I normally park, a woman in her 40's comes storming over to me and basically shouts at me "How dare you roar in here and ruin everyone's day!?!?! We're trying to spend time with family here! I should get you kicked out for being a nuisance!"
I try to calmly explain to her that I was being careful to be quiet (and I was, its a pretty loud bike, it sounds like your basic loud-ish Harley), and I apologized with a slight smirk I guess. She got super pissed, starts bitching, and I apologized again. As she's about to start bitching again ( its now been 2-3 minutes of this, and at this point I'm almost ready to throw a punch), I hear this thunderous noise coming towards us.
Turns out a couple of my dad's friends old riding friends decided to stop by to visit. She wasn't very pleased when 35 guys on Harley's showed up and parked right next to me :p
Sledge hammer to start with then migrated to a nice makita electric jack hammer. still took the better part or 3 hours to do.
Good choice. Yeah, concrete doesn't like to come out a lot of the time. It's such a bitch when they have the larger stones under the basic cement. Good work! What are your plans for the rise and run on the treads? Going to stay your standard 8"?
Standard rise but with larger area at top with an overhead to keep rain and snow off your neck while entering the house. Straight concrete no river stone will be added.

Worked then relaxed.
Watching "American experience" "War letters" on OPB a bit ago and holy shit. They just read letters from soldiers. It was slow but it was awesome listening to them while cleaning up.
