Honestly, If porn was preventing people from joining. Those people probably wouldn't/won't join anyways. That's a really, REALLY stupid reason not to join a site for information.

However, if vendors and people that pay in to the site complained, That's a very good, and valid reason. As they are part ownership (Not in reality, but so to speak)

Makes no difference to me. Honestly? It wasn't out of control at all even if there was 10 threads... 10 threads out of 160,331 total threads isn't even a drop in the bucket, regardless of thread length. Everybody knew what it was.

Just read the announcement, and I fully agree with this move by James for many reasons. The reasons James listed in the announcement alone are WAAAY more than sufficient to eradicate NWS stuff from this forum. There are professionals conducting business here that we all benefit from, and I personally would feel alot better about R3V if it was more like M42 club for example, where people are extremely helpful, there is a TON of knowledge, and enthusiasts can go to be enthusiasts, not just to get mired down in ass-hattery.

There is a few cool people I know personally who don't frequent R3V very much because of some of the stuff that goes on here.

Now, I am surely not one to talk, I have partaken in my fair share of stupidity, but either way, this decision is a good one.

Very happy to see that being are being respectful of this decision. We only want what is good for the site, and if that means attracting even more members and strengthening our member base and community by just getting rid of the porn, I think that's a worthwhile sacrifice.
