I read the three books. The first season is based on the first, and the subsequent two series will be based on the other two books.

As always HBO has offered up another awesome series that you wouldn't find on many other channels. It's based in the mid-evil times and revolves around two main families and their quarrels. There are a lot of different characters to follow, the costumes, scripts, backgrounds, etc are all very good. It airs every Sunday and is up there on my top 10 shows.

The show is great. Almost every character is multi-dimensional. And as I understand it the author has no problem brutally killing off his main characters--I am eagerly anticipating the demise of certain more loathsome characters, but I don't think Ned Stark is much longer for this world either.

Ok, first off, there are 4 books currently out, with the 5th releasing on July 12th.


and yes, this show is amazingly good. It's easily the best book adaptation I've ever seen, even better than LOTR was (at adapting the source material). Last nights episode was written by the author too!

Game of Thrones is done better than Spartacus in every single way possible outside of fake GCI Gore and Soft Core Porn. The acting, script, characters, location, sets and everything else is all way above and beyond on GOT.

The show is actually better at making me care about the characters, which is impressive. I actually care about the Starks, and in the books I never really cared for any of them except for Arya (who is being acted phenomenally)
