Only 39 years in the making! Boston played so well through the entire playoffs, constantly evolved and took the championship. They earned it. IMO, Boston out-played Vancouver the entire series, even though Vancouver took an early lead.

Let me preface this post by saying I am NOT a Vancouver fan, quite the opposite. I dislike a large number of there players and hate the brand of hockey they play. Not to mention they play in the same division as my team which it makes it impossible for me to cheer for them. However you have Vancouver fans wrong in this instance. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the fans at the rink, the ones setting fire to cars outside are indefensible.

They stuck around and cheered for their team while they waited for the Bruins to finish celebrating so they could shake hands. They gave Tim Thomas a huge ovation for putting on a goaltending display that won't be equalled anytime soon. As for the Boo-ing it wasn't directed at the Bruins, they boo-ed when Bettman spoke, not during any of the Boston celebration. To be clear they were boo-ing Bettman not the Bruins and in Canada you deserve props for boo-ing Bettman. Not to get into a rant but Bettman has no business running the NHL and somehow the league is succeeding in spite of him. He has moved teams into non-hockey markets and refuses to admit the mistakes of putting teams in cities like Pheonix and Atlanta where hockey isn't and never will be a part of the culture. He is also in constant resistance to relocating teams back to Canada, that and the fact that he can't open his mouth without sounding like a colossal douche makes him pretty unpopular up here.

With all the cellphone cameras and shit, not to mention it started outside the CBC studios, the amount of video footage there will be of this should put a number of people in jail.
What the young guys don't realize is this kind of crap will stay on your permanent record up here, and these people may be risking future career aspirations if/when they are charged.

Probably, but it really does happen every year in every sport. Not to downplay it but a few years ago when our team went to 7 in the final it was the same story, people smashing stuff and getting arrested. The booze fueled crowd mentality takes over and shit just gets out of hand. It just is what it is, no use being embarrassed about it. The stuff in Vancouver tonight is nothing compared to that Montreal vid above and some of the NBA riots in the states, not to mention the infamous soccer riots in Europe.

The huge crowd is just tearing through the big retail stores. They're now esitmating several million in damage.

Edit: An army of riot police is taking over armed with AR-15's and huge German Shepards haha.
