Netflix capable TV in 32"-37" range?

Looking to put a TV in one of the spare bedrooms and connect it to the internetz via WIFI. We don't have cable TV, just a big connection to the internet (~30mb down).

Does such a beast exist? Any of you guys have direct experience with one? Good/bad?

Was hoping to have just a TV, mount it on the wall and be done with it. No other wires, hardware, etc.

IMO I'm over Samsung. At least with the small tv sets 22" in my bedroom and 32 or 37" at the hotel this weekend. The sound sucks. I'm not the most anal about tv's but the sound reproduction and volume span could be much better. Span = difference btw sound level 8 and 9 is too great. 8 too quiet 9 way too loud.

                I have no cable TV.
                I use a PS3 for netflix.
I Use PlayOn! For FREE hulu and LOTS of other stuff. No need to buy Hulu Plus and PS +. I waited for a sale and got it for $10 per year subscription. Worth every penny
I use PS3 Media Server for my movies stored on my computer

I enjoy a bill that's 100 dollars less per month.
My PS3 has paid for itself several times over. Plus it plays games

^We have an HTPC and PS3 in the living room to spilt streaming/Blu-Ray/gaming duties, so I hear you on cheap bill every month.

Our big connection + Netflix comes out to about $80/month, whereas before with the digital/HD package (so I could watch F1/WRC) the Cox bill alone was $160!

nwvb, thanks for the suggestion, but yeah a hair big!

Drop the HTPC and look into PlayOn! and the free PS3 Media server. the combo works fantastic. The computer I'm currently on is the media server for it, and a gaming rig. Works wonderfully and only the PS3 needs a wired connection. Wireless N takes care of the HD streaming to the PS3 no problemo.

This computer was the HTPC for a year until I nailed everything down. The PS3 does all of the work now, with the computer in my little man cave streaming to the PS3

I too am thinking about dropping the Comcast bill down to internet only, but I will be choked down to 12MBps...but I cannot live without proper Dolby Digital.

                        Closing SOON!

Yup, using PS3 media server and netflix anyway.
Optical when I was on the HTPC.
Now, the PS3 uses it, and is transmitted via optical to my surround. HDMI To my TV (Which is muted)

PlayOn! though. doesn't. It streams a stream. it works just fine with hardly any noticable video difference. but I have yet to see it do anything other than stereo. I don't watch much mainstream TV anyways. I could go take a look for ya and see what she does.

However, any of the streaming services are completely dependent on what they're format is. Netflix uses all kinds of formats. Up to dolby digital plus. I only have a 5.1 receiver over optical, so it gets DTS and AC3 depending on the stream. So yeah

640kbps AC3 via PS3 media server.. Put's up the little light on my receiver when It's being used.

Set up on one remote. TV on Auto on, and a low power relay soldered to my TV LED for the signal that kills the power to my subwoofer and receiver. Turn on PS3, everything comes to life, turn off PS3, TV goes to sleep, and kills power to the audio. Works fantastic

Nice! I currently have no plans for PS3, but the HTPC will happen shortly. Planning on Windoze 7 HTPC + Media Remote + H/K receiver, need to find a GB router, get the whole house on GB wiring too, I wanna stream crap over the network.

Personally, I cannot even imagine trying to live with TV speakers...just no way.

I have a rosewill HTPC remote control I'll sell you for 10 bucks.
Also, consider using a laptop. I have an old MSI GT720 with an HDMI output that worked wonderfully wirelessly, with a 2TB NAS. If you had an HDMI Receiver, you'd get dolby digital plus no problemo.

Also. Word on the TV speaker garbage. The smallest and crappiest sound system I own is on this computer. A creative Inspire T5400 with Cambridge soundworks speakers for the rear.
Debating on upgrading to 7.1 in the living room, and bringing the Denon receiver in here for my PC.

                              heheheh

MMM... Harmann Kardon. I only wish I could afford such things
