seems like you followed all the protocol and should be reimbursed for the damages.

The documentation you have done is better than almost all the claims they probably get for insurance. If they don't accept your claim thats trash.

Did you take it to UPS or a mom/pop UPS outlet?

Good luck! I would have still put them in another box, if anything as to not draw attention to it.

i wanted to make sure if something like this did happen, i was prepared, hence the before shots, insurance etc. ive been working with someone in the UPS corporate offices who has been a great help to me, im going to call her tomorrow and have her help me with the next steps, which are going to be heading to small claims court, contacting the BBB etc

No it was a legit UPS outlet. That was actually another thing i asked them at the store, if i should put them in a box or something, but they insisted that it would be fine

Didnt read every comment but i'd recommend contacting the attorney general in what ever state UPS is based out of.

          also, dont give up.

UPS isnt going to do shit since you aren't an enterprise account. Hell, even with an enterprise account I have had to yell at the adjuster for shit that had obviously fallen out of a truck at highway speed. Just notify them you will contact BBB and have completed discovery and will will be taking them to small claims for a judgement. Simply do it in your home state. Since its inter-state a judgement can be made against them anywhere.

Being said, just note the risk that the rules do state there must be 2" of foam and they might be able to find an expert to state that your packaging isn't sufficient. The flight cases might be capable to withstand the abuse but, as stated already, there isnt enough buffer to protect your equipment. When facing an impact that arrangement looks like it would transfer a good portion of the energy to the equipment. Sure you have never had a problem before but you likely dont treat them like the $8/hr flunkies they have load trucks at UPS.
            Im now E30less.

"Our flight cases are capable of withstanding UPS and FEDEX transportation. We use UPS to ship many our products on a regular basis and their is enough padding to protect your gear."
Going across town to a gig and shipping gear across the country are two different things entirely. As to the flight case company talking about shipping empty cases. . . What the hell would that prove?

I did find an unboxing video of a CDJ-200 likely one like UPS will show in court. If you watch you can clearly see how pioneer isolated the CDJ from the outside of the box by 2" in every direction. This is likely b/c they have shipped a few of them before. How would you expect to put 2 CDJ-200s into a flight case with nothing between them and not expect them to damage one another during transport?

that's how i would look at it too. It's their fault that they didn't tell you your packaging was insufficient

                  sucks dude

Denial of claim is standard protocol for UPS and FEDEX too. You just have to keep on them and even then maybe, just maybe.

I have had my own dealings with them

Do a google search on denied claims...
