    Mri

I had one today (well yesterday around noon) and I've had a weird day since. That shit is so weird. Sounded like I was getting shot at for 30 mins straight. Also led me to realizing I'm claustrophobic. Who else hates that shit?

I got a pair of sweet non-magnet headphones to listen to, had a air tube going into them instead of wires.

Here's what you need to do.

The night before, watch a scary movie, 2G1C, and a presidential speech. By the time you're in the tube, your mind will be carrying a whirlwind of crazy thoughts and your MRI will come up all weird. They will think you're a mutant or ET and possibly put you in their government sponsored testing.
Then, after a while, they'll attempt to replicate your powers by injecting a secret intergalactic substance into your bloodstream, but instead, what will happen is your thyroid and pituitary glands will hypertrophy causing gigantism and king kong like size.
Now, with your penis the size of a subcompact car, you will spiral into a depression, along with your new desire to watch women's beach volleyball. With each smack of the ball and each jiggle of an ass, you will realize you can never play with 'human' games again, nor sustain an erection due to fear of drowning someone with your 18 gallon sperm shots.
You attempt suicide, but even 50cal bullets bounce off of you like birds into my office window. Resentment kicks in, you blame everyone else. You jump over to Europe, piss on the Eiffel tower, re-erect the wall in Germany and fist pump Italy into dust. Then its off to the Middle East. In Saudi Arabia, you begin making sandcastles that look like cNb's and sign it 'From Blunt with Love'. They'll retaliate by chucking molotov cocktails at your feet but they forgot you're a giant and you can just step in the red sea to put them out.
By this time, the USA and China have joined forces to try and stop you. The USA manages to place 5 army installations througout China and its at this very moment, a Marine sniper gets you in the neck with a tranq dart.
You wake up weeks later, in your own bed with vague memories of whats happened. You look over to your nightstand and there's a letter signed by both Bush's. They thank you for your role and your patriotism. You realize it was all a scheme to invade China and it worked.
But, since you're back to normal size you don't complain. You head to the beach for a game of 3 on 3 and afterwards *uck bitches.

Holy shit, i need to lay off the drugs. The only reason I wrote all this bullshit is becuase i don't want to do any actual work today but need to look busy. Hence all the typing. If it bothers anyone, i can just do this asdofihasdofhskadjf sdifoyhasod asoidfh oaisdhf c sdjfh asdfhas dfsoadofn asdjfh 0awe8.

Really though, it is weird. Just focus on your breathing. It's really that simple.

I had one a month or so ago. I had the same headphones with air/music going to them.
Before I went in I got pulled aside to see the head Mri tech because they were legit worried about my tattoo's..
I was like "Mythbusters totally busted that" and he's like "um yeah people have been complaining about burning sensations and flaring up recently soo...if anything happens let us know and we'll stop"
          I was like wtf...
Although its cool how you get to wear dragonball Z goku style outfits for them ;D

I think getting my EEG is way more annoying. Think about it, they artificially induce seizures while they watch. I hate the feeling after seizures. MRI is pretty relaxing, I always think they just have a bunch of sand being swirled around in the machine.

ive had 2 MRI 's and an EMG, and a epidural shot to the lower spine with flouroscopic guidance, creepy watching a needle go into your spine on a flat screen tv!

mri's r chill, just noisy as fuck, just have to close your eyes and put your mind elsewhere

EMG not so comfortable, it tests the conductivity of your nerves starting at low voltages moving up increasing the voltage until u get involuntary movements. pretty much in a crude way its attaching a neg terminal to one part of a limb and at the other end there is a positive terminal, probed with acupunture style needles. the machine tests the time delay and signal strength and voltage diminishments between terminals.

my leg did some funny movement for about an hour after that test was done, i was doing the stomp test unintentionally while driving. LOlz

I just had a second EMG in a year, they were no fun!

A few months back I had a PET scan for cancer. That was way worse, they inject you with radioactive dye and you have to lie perfectly still for an hour while the isotopes do their thing then you go in for a cat scan.

Had the regular cat and it was not too bad.

Ear plugs and keep your eyes closed before going in till you get all the way out. I don't get claustrophobic unless I psych myself out.

I had one done on my leg (2 weeks before Boston marathon, potential stress fractures... luckily it came out clear). Super noisy and a little annoying having to lay perfectly still. But at least it was just my lower 1/3 in the machine, and not my torso - I'm not a huge fan of confined spaces. I had music, but damn that machine is loud! Although, I think out of boredom, I did manage to almost fall asleep a few times....

I though it sounded sort of like one of those old dot-matrix printers, on crack.

Apparently, not all MRI machines are that loud. Technology is helping quiet them down.

You got lucky on the EMG too. They did not do the part where the jab an 18hour gate be needle into you while it is hooked up to a radio tranciever. And wiggle it around to here the nerves fire.
