Just some constructive criticism, though, jokes need some polish in how you deliver. The material was pretty good and major props for getting up there, I'm sure once you get more comfortable with it then the delivery will fall in to place.

Thanks guys! I know I have a some work to do but for my first time I was happy with it. I was so freaking nervous before I went on and the room only had like 10-15 people in it so getting some laughs felt good. Thanks for the support.

Holy crap 15 mins for an open mic act is a long time. Most of the places I have been an audience member for give them 5 mins if they are doing well and maybe if they are sucking.


As for the question about whether the audience being small helped, yes and no. Jokes are all subjective, so the smaller the audience the smaller the chance that you will say something funny that someone there likes and laughter tends to be contagious, so in a big club you can get really big laughs since everyone sort of feeds off of one another. But it definitely helped my nerves. I couldn't see anyone anyway the lights were bright, you can see me squinting at the beginning.

Thats funny you mention that. I was out having a pint last night with my buddy and its all i was talking about and he goes "Hey you know I'm friends with Greg Shapiro, right? The guy that was at Boom Chicago forever"

hahaha I legit lol'd at the tall person jokes. I definitely want to try asking a short person for help with something at ground level. Also liked the Trojan joke, I haven't heard that one before!
