Im not understanding how this rival thing works because sometimes i will get a faster time then my rival and when i cross the finish it doesnt count it and if i press start it will show that i got a better time has this happened to anyone else?
Got in the top 1 percent with the e30m3 during the spec race. Was suprised because the alph is so much faster in c class.
Is this part of rival stuff? please explain...
AND... There are certain things I just don't know how to do - like export a picture... I spent some time and made Thelma; now I want to show her off...

Its under the options I believe. Its ask you to share the photo and then you name it.
Got to Forza website > My Forza > File Depot > it will be there
BTW when you finish a race you can go to the leaderboards to see how you did against the world. It will also let you know what cars are the fasted on that track given the class. I was able to get the e30m3 in to the top 1% of the world in the c class on the the tracl that the spec series is reaced on. Won't last as more people get on and use the faster cars though. Alpha was 7 seconds faster on that track.

Probably a dirty time. Caused by going off track, or clipping a wall/etc.
not even close to a dirty lap, my brother is actually amazing at racing games, he doesn't have his license yet but he's pretty good aat driving in real life too. He would probably smoke me around any track. He was also in the running for GT academy for a while.

Could be as simple as dropping 2 wheels off in the wrong spot. Seems that sometimes what should be a proper race line with 2 wheels on the inside curb is 'far enough' for Forza to call it off-track - total BS. I had a LOT of "WTF did I go off" laps when I was doing the Top Gear rivalry - Mostly 2 wheels on outside curbing at exit of 2nd to last turn or 2 wheels on inside curbing on last turn. Those 2 will also bone your next lap....
Just look for that stupid triangle by the current lap time. If it lights up, the lap was "dirty" - even if it didn't seem like it.
If that isn't the case, then there is something screwy going on.
Currently fine tuning my C425 AMC Javelin for drag racing - stepping through rear tire pressures and am rather amazed that (with TCS on for tuning purposes) I am at a flat 13.250 with tire pressures ranging from 31.0-37.0. ALL runs, 13.250, except for one 13.249...... I thought tire pressure would play a much larger role and at least have some difference.
Cool beans on the E30 ranking - didn't know that aspect was there. I'll have to check it out!

there's nothing screwy going on, trust me it was a clean lap, hes in the top 100 around 3 tracks and all in nissans/datsuns. He's just good at the game. I don't even think it puts your score on the leader board if you get 2 wheels off track or get the triangle. Just look up Kamotors on the leader board and you can download the ghost lap. By the way hes 17yrs old. he just doesn't have a license yet.
