enjoy your vacation and don't worry about e30 parts that you will not be able to find. and E36 seats are not practical to get back to the U.S., shipping alone will be in the 300-500 range.

enjoy your time here in europe, if you need any help with anything in southern Germany, give me a PM on here.

Thanks for the offer Mike. I have been looking into importing a whole car from Germany or the like and just can't believe the figures.

yeah, shipping is unbelievable in the amount it raised in the last few years. about 3 years ago, I shipped my 55 Chevy from Chicago to NJ for about 800 dollars(open semi), and from NJ to Rotterdam Netherlands for roughly another 800(closed container)- then the taxes- all came out to about 2100 dollars. a friend just recently paid about 3500 dollars for roughly the same.

USPS and such is also crazy, 3 years ago a box from here to Cali. would cost me about 25-30 dollars through a military APO, today the same box costs about 65 dollars

I'd be surprised if you saw half a dozen e30s on the road in those two months.

There's nothing over there worth getting your hands dirty over.

Hit up Oktoberfest and enjoy your vacation!

I figured thats about what I would be looking at. I was originally intending to look for models of cars that I could import back to the US that weren't available to US originally, but it looks like there is no legal way to actually get, for example, an E36 M3 Euro back to the states and be able to drive it on the streets. With the money I would invest in getting a comparable car like that to the states, I might as well buy an E46 M3. :x

It's a little slice of heaven on earth.

I don't care what it costs to live there....statistically it is (IMO) the best place ever. Yes, I've been there, no, I didn't want to leave.
