if any shooting goes down, $10 says the NG or cops will be blamed first and often. I hate that Americans have to take up arms against Americans, but violence right now is just preventing help and aid, which EVERYONE is bitching about taking too long. As a cold hearted Republican (sort of), anyone that pisses off the troops enough to get dumped upon deserves it for hurting relief efforts.

That Gov. sounds like a pistol, many politicians wouldn't say that kind of stuff for a million votes...

Fuckin A, good to see our governor has some balls(ovaries).

Things are getting out of control down here, crime has risen drastically in BR since the hurricane with all the refugees in town and the gov. isn't going to stand for it.

Its really sad that citizens of an industrialized nation resort to looting when a natural disaster like this happens.... rather then working together to help each other out. I hope these people rot in hell.

7000 regular troops from the 82nd Airborne, 1st Cavalry and the Marines' 1st and 2nd Expeditionary.

I'm undecided about the use of regular troops for this purpose, but damn that is a hell of a statement. I've met and hung with a MEU sgt, and those dudes are the real motherfuckin deal. any bad folks will cease to be bad soon.

though, I can't wait to hear "he [Bush] went too far..."

Well its the small small minority of gangs and people shooting at cops that are making the whole thing more difficult. Its not like all the citizens are shooting and going after cops. I hope this gets resolved soon.

Here in Houston (well the Astrodome) I have heard that there have been several rapes, and fights, and that there is a problem with the men trying to break into the women's showers.

When we had or football game (in Reliant Stadium 30ft from the 'dome) I was honestly scared that there were going to be some fights/chaos due to the fact that they were telling the people in the dome that they could come and watch the game for free. Luckily the few that did come were just glad to be out of that shit hole that they were in and have some clean clothes on thier backs and food in their stomachs. Meet one guy from Slidell, LA and he kept saying that he was greatful for all that the Houstonians were doing to help out, then politely asked where the beer was and sat down and drank for a while.

im just ready for it to get back to normal down here. you have no clue how it is if you are not being affected. im not trying to rant, but like you think its bad. but when it strikes close to home, like last night. The convienent store that backs up to my neighborhood was robbed at gunpoint with shots fired, but liuckily they missed any victims.

Alright, before I start this rant, I'll explain a little bit about my background. My dad is a cop back at home and has been one for 26 years. Over the past few days, I've talked to my dad a lot about what has happened down there.

You all have to imagine what its like to lose everything you own. A lot of those people didn't have much to begin with and they've lost it all. A lot of the 'looting' that happened earlier may not have been as bad as everyone thinks. People walking down streets or wading through the water with a 27" TV may not have been 'looting' just to loot. Think about it this way. You have NO MONEY. You might be able to sell a 27" TV for $100. Thats $100 more than you had before. Thats $100 you can spend to get your life back. You guys all know damn well the majority of these stores that were hit will have insurance claims filed and everything in the stores will be conisdered a total loss. The TV won't be missed.

I'm not going to say that was the case with everyone, but some of the public has missed the point I just made.

A guy stealing 10 pairs of jeans? Thats 10 more pairs than he's wearing now. I don't know about you, but I myself would like to have more than one pair of clothes to wear. Expecially when you can't wash what you have.

Now to the people shooting at helicopters. Try sitting on the roof of your house thats underwater with your family and maybe a few neighbors. Try doing it for a few days. Watch helicopter after helicopter go by and pick up other people. You'd get pissed pretty quick. I know I would. My dad said he would too.

I'm not going to try to rationalize everything thats happening down there because I can't. I'm not there. I can't imagine whats happened down there. I see pictures and video clips of whats happened on TV and hear what the journalists who haven't been there are saying. Most of whats being said is just their close minded opinion.

Thats all I feel like typing. Agree with what I said, disagree with what I said. I don't care. But think about what those people are going through.
