Euro Tourists bringing their cars

Today, on my mildly uneventful labor day holiday, I saw a mint red VW Bus with German Plates full of germans, who waved at me when I drove by in my E30. Then in the afternoon, while driving through the Bay Bridge toll plaza, I see a really cool looking White Defender 110 with a rack and everything. Closer look shows that it too has a German plates, front and back..presumably with two germans riding in front.
Has anyone else noticed a bunch of European tourists visiting the states with their cars? This is not the first or second time...here are a few I've seen in the past year.

Yes, nor of the Defender 110 (one of my all time favorite cars)
First time, caught me off guard and I was rolling over one of my island's bridges..second times, my dad was driving the Volvo, CAMERA IN HAND, but we were like 4 lanes over in the fast track lane :hitler:
I'm currently scouring the web though, trying to see if they have blogs like some other folks

Holy shit! I actually found the German couple..
LOL wtf, They mentioned the most random place in the world, the road on which my dad's office is on. In complete suburbia, San Ramon, California..
And it seems like they've been here before.
