I parked in the employee lot about 5 feet from the door of the building where all my classes are all last semester. I rode the bus for a few days to learn the traffic guys pattern then did what I had to do to avoid him during the semester. He got me 5 minutes after i parked on the day of the final exam for a $40 ticket. Since I was on campus at a non regularly scheduled time I didn't know when he would be there so he got me 5 minutes after I parked. I was gonna appeal it but decided to pay the fine since I did the crime. $40 versus $260 and I got to park closer than any other student could, I consider that a good deal

It depends, how much is the ticket, if its like 50 bucks, do you really think you will get 16 tickets? You might come out on top even with a few tickets.
Get some poor kid without a car who is on financial aid to buy you a permit, they get a discount or someone who has one already can go buy a replacement for a lost permit its sometimes half off. But that would make his existing one void but I don't think he will get caught.

Haha thanks for the input guys.
Yes Abby, I do plan on exercising those crew calves
I'm bringing my old dirt jumper down with me, along with a skateboard.
However, I have quite a big dilemma.
I live in La Jolla, and have practice every single morning down in Mission bay, at 5:30 am. There is no way in fuck that I can skate or bike the distance of a 15 minute car ride every morning in my wet spandex, carrying all of my books and bag fulla clothes.
Carpooling is only going to work temporarily - I'm gonna need a car to get me back and fourth from practice :(

haha do you go to ucsd? I've gotta look into that one. I'm afraid if I get caught with a fake permit, I'd get fucked since it's a UC

I used to ride almost everyday. When i didn't want to ride i would rack my bike and drive just to the out skirts of downtown where the parking is still free. Then just ride or walk the last 15 blocks or so.

Look for some place a little further away and free to park. It helped me work on my being late problem also. Probably the best thing that going to college did for me.

They vary at Az State from about $280-$650. I on campus mostly at night so I luck out and get to either park for free or maybe have to pay $1.50 in a meter. But during the day I park in a $5 all day lot

I have probably paid close to $500 in parking tickets throughout my time here though. Never towed or booted though (knocks on wood)

I did two things to ensure no parking issues through my 4.5 year stint at school.

                    1. Receive a parking ticket for minimal issues (parked in faculty spot, over due meter etc) This is a $25.00 fine at my school, well worth it. Our tickets come in mini yellow envelopes, so what you do is pay the ticket. Keep the envelope and whenever you park put the envelope on your windshield. You have to do it discretely. I would put the wipers on, and when the wiper got near where i could reach around (lol) i would sick the envelope under and the wiper would bring it to the perfect position.

                    2. If, like my school the decal goes on the inside of the window, then take a really good picture of a faculty (or i guess a student one should work) and get to work on your computer to make it the right size color etc. When ready to print, go to office max/depot/etc and get sticky backed paper. Set the sizing up and go print.

                    Hope it helps bud.

                    -Mike

Where I go to school everything is within walking distance, and i have friends with cars to drive out to the mountains in the winter. I just took my car off the road for the next few months so the salt wont touch her, and because the roads up around me are absolutely horrible, i saw some car catch air out of a pothole yesterday, and it still makes me cringe thinking about it, hahaha.

I go to community college, so yes, I do get away without parking permits.

parking passes are $150 for one semester, $275 for a full year (used to be $100/$180)
There's a gym on the campus that actually does NOT allow students to park there, only patrons can. I can simply walk into the gym and walk out the side door and BAM free parking

at community college, no big deal.

At Purdue I borrowed my roommate's pass and swapped it with him. find someone who has your opposite schedule.

LOL When I was going to Indiana State I worked at the repair shop where we had access to all vehicles, including the traffic carts. Their storage compartments were full of those yellow envelopes, so I always took a few, and made sure when I parked illegally I placed a brand new looking one under my wiper. Thanks for reminding me, it was good times haha

I have been parking on campus for 3 years and Ive gotten only 4 tickets. Each ticket was $40 while the parking permit was $550. My advice is park in the largest lot where there is a smaller chance of the parking waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles finding you
