College guys: Anyone get by w/o parking permits?

Just curious. At my school, a yearly permit costs roughly $800 + fees.
Wanna see if anyone here gets by/has gotten by having a car at school with them, without paying outrageous permit fees..and if you have any tips/tricks.

LOL $800? Does it come with crack?

I used to get away parking in the staff parking lot for about 3 semesters then got slammed with a $33 ticket. I lol'd then started parking 1/4 away in a 4 hour zone, which obviously required me to walk. I move my car between classes for lunch anyways.

    Permit here is $60/semester.
Sister's is $132/semester at her university and she parks a little more than a 1/4 mile away and walks.

Welcome to college. Excersice those calves.

ps. You're a competitive boat roarer thing guy, so don't complain :)

i had a friend who made a fake one. He had a printer, that printed on plastic, so he printed the image on a sheet of plastic, and cut it out to how it is supposed to look, and bam. Counterfeit parking permit. Mind you my campus' parking permit is only 280$ for the year lol

I did this in first year. Along with my forged bus pass. Worked great, no issues...until they checked more closely and wrote me a ticket.

Now my car is under my grandmother's name, so that I park where ever the fuck I want. I parked in the Business Faculty President's Spot and got a ticket for $60. I walked out to my car and ripped up the ticket.

WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO!?

It's a private parking infraction, they can't levvy your tax return or anything serious like the city can. It's like me writing people traffic tickets when their in my driveway. All they can do is withhold grades and not allow you to graduate, but it's not my car, so who the fuck cares?

I'm not a dick about it usually, I park in the butterfly conservatory parking loading zone, where no one goes and nothing gets loaded.

I got away without a parking permit for about 5 semesters. Up to you if you want to risk it.

I used to think that about my parking ticket and private toll road ticket until I couldn't register my car when it appeared at the DMV.

Ya, certain private places can affect that in Canada, like the ETR (a toll road) and Green P Parking lots, but most of the time they're unenforceable. It's the same with a STOP sign. You don't have to stop at the ones on private property, like a grocery store, or again, universities. I can't put up stop signs around my house and write people tickets for them.

Trust me, I'm not just throwing my grannie under the bus or anything. I looked into this.

I park my car at my house and either ride my bike to school or take the bus.

I survived 10 semesters without buying a permit. If you can walk you'll survive too.

                            hahahahahahaha $48 parking pass FTW!

Still don't drive my car all that much. I have gone about 130 miles in just under a month, and a lot of it was pointless driving, and my clutch is going out...parking lot clutch job wooo...
