I can't figure out which tablet

I need a simple excel editor and pdf viewer with a screen big enough for a client to read. These aren't techy dinks who use technology. Most of the time these clients are maintenance people who still use a flip phone so I can't rely on them using their fingers to zoom in and out. The only other thing is battery life. I will also use this to read our machine schematics which is a lot of back and forth between pages. I do use my Kindle a lot, but for the mags I read, it would be nice to have color. So its down to

I've used an iPad 1 since they came out so there weren't any other tablet options. If I were to buy another, I would take a look at the Galaxy tab also, the screen on it is fantastic. I wasn't that impressed with the Xoom for the price. Lack of flash may or may not be the determining factor for you on the iPad but you should probably find out if that is something you need.

The iPad2 is going to be the most "idiot proof" of the three tablets, then The Samsung then the Motorola.

My personal preference is The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It has a ton of features, the Honeycomb interface is great and it's incredibly fast. You will also have a lot more control over your Excel files using QuickOffice or Google Docs than you will with the iPad2.

They are all about the same price so that luckily doesn't factor in much.

Xoom is very lackluster
Galaxy is overpriced
Ipad requires Itunes........

And use polaris office. It's very free. And very good
Plus, the transformer can go 17 hours if you get the keyboard dock.

ipad 1s on ebay are the same price as the 2s. Thats a good point tho. I hate itunes and I will have to use that if I use it for music or videos.

Should have gotten one of those HP tablets that they discontinued in the last week or so. Places were trying to get rid of stock by selling them for $99. Apparently HP is going to make another run and make more of them because they sold out so fast.

Don't get me wrong, the iPad is clearly the best tablet on the market, but for $99, that shit probably fits your needs perfectly.

I'm a huge Apple fan. Got the Iphone, IMac and IPad. Gotta say, I'm not impressed with the IPad at all. It's just a big IPhone. I'm not sure how the other tablets compare but I was looking for something to replace my laptop completely, but an IPad can't. Maybe in a few years all laptops will be tablets.

Depending on what you do on your laptop, this isn't all that feasible at this point in time, regardless of company or tablet.

And with ultrabooks on the horizon, it's going to be a pretty heated playing field.
