Photobucket - clashes with Macbook pro

I've been trying to fix this problem for a week now - Apple store, apple care on the phone, even Apple care senior engineers cannot help me. They say that my problems is "content related" but I'm sure that EVERY single photobucket file cannot be corrupted.
For some reason, whenever I download a photo that is hosted on photobucket, it gets all squished when trying to view it on my computer..or if I try right-click setting it as my wallpaper from the internet, it comes out all pixelated, and stretched out on the wallpaper. These photos are all usually normal 1024x768's, but still, they come out all weird.
Oddly enough, these pictures appear normal in the upper-left thumbnails for the wallpaper settings in system preferences, but they instantly get stretched out vertically for some odd reason.
Anyone have an idea of wtf is going on? Apple cannot help me, so I've turned to R3V.

Photobucket does that to me too on occasion, and I certainly do not have a Mac.

    Blame the shitty website.

yeah dude, i just saw the pattern between vlad's e30 m3 thread and mike edlers' latest photo thread. then i tried other photobucket threads, and immediately saw the pattern.

First off what is your screen res? I mean if you are downloading a photo that is 1024x768 and your screen resolution is 2560x1600 well you can't exactly expect it to come out non-pixelated

2nd)What browser are you using? Have you tried using different browsers?

3rd)How are you trying to download it? Are you in photobucket and just clicking on it? Or are they hosted in photobucket but are posted on a forum and you try to save them from there?

I personally hate photobuckets zoom thing (when you click on it and it makes it "bigger") I just click on it and after it gets bigger I right-click the photo and it give me the option to "Open Image in New Tab" and I always choose it. This way I only have the image and none of those website scripts manipulating it and getting in the way. I've never gotten a messed up image doing it that way... But I'm using google chrome and IDK what you have

Firefox has a similar option. Right clicking the image and selecting "View Image"

^ yeah ive gona through all of those variables with the apple support people.
I'm doing the 'right click save as' like I always have, for many years..straight off boards.

these pictures all actually work on my family's 17" macbook pro..i have the 13" with shitty os x lion

happens in both firefox and safari (which i dont even use)

^^ That is your problem. Put in a new(er) OS

Or just do a fresh install of the original OS. I do that at least once a year. Fixes all problems, even the problems you didn't know you had

*btw, when you do a 'fresh install' do you have to wipe everything off?

I do not think he is referring to pixelation. If it is anything like what was happening to me it was squishing the pics to thereabouts 2000x10 pixels.

Mine did this, but its only does it with one persons 'Bucket account. Also, I too am running a 2 week old Macbook pro w/ Lion, running the quad core i7, not sure what you're running(processor wise) but I can't imagine it means anything.

Funny. I got the student discount too, but I'm only going into senior year of HS... Oh, probably because I told them a random college name... :o

And I'm freaking love it. works awesomely, has a super hard time loading pics on S/W sometimes, but thats it. Has run flawlessly besides that. And I look like a boss using the "gestures".
