My adventures in a veggie burger. Portland Oregon style #1.

My wife is a big fan of MIX magazine. Mix is a local food mag that frankly is a yuppy/hipster (if that's even possible) mag. One of the topics are good places to eat. Who doesn't like eating.
There's an article about veggie burgers and where to get good ones. The writer writes about five places to get a good burger. My wife and I decide we're going to hit up each place over a five week span. She doesn't eat beef and she's touchy about meat in general.

First place is located in Communist Portland (as are a few of the five). Place is fairly clean but has old crappy chairs and tables. Two hipster chicks are the servers. Tattoos and all as expected. I order a Porter, my wife orders a micro brew light beer. I believe it was one of their brews.

Service=sucked pretty bad. Hipster chick #1 misunderstood which porter I wanted. Frankly not a big deal as I had the other after I had the first. She reached over right in front of me to get the sampler glass that was on the further side of the table that she brought earlier. WTF? Never checks on us again and I had to go up to get the other porter.

Now for the burger. Damn that was an really good veggie burger. No this burger was a vegan burger actually. Literally the only thing the burger needed was an egg to hold it together better HA. But the taste was great and the texture was great. The serving size was more than satisfying. My wife had to take half of hers home.
This veggie burger I would eat again. Wish they'd do something about the service though. Yes we still tipped 20% just because this time.
