    math question

    Okay so I have this right angle triangle a = 1, b = 1 and c = 1.4142"

What is the distance from the right angled corner to the center of c?

Im trying to figure out basically the height of the v for a home project.

Verified via AutoCAD. (Screw math, I make computers do it for me. lol)

Lol I would've used cad too. The answer is right, I found out throughout the day when my friend who is a mechanical engineer explained how he came about .7. A triangle is basically half a square.

            Only true when a=b

Not when its an isoceles triangle then it will never be a squate if combined with an equal triangle. As length a and b are equal lengths but don't meet at a right angle!

A triangle is only half a square when a and b are perpendicular to each other creating a right angle and the two remaining angles are each 45 degrees angles, regardless of a a = b 's length LOL

I study a degree in Engineering, I knew that'd come in handy somewhere
