Well: We celebrated our independence day, it's the only week in the year when we listen to our country music (cuecas and tonadas), we forget about diets, our local cowboys (huasos) appear, and we drink chicha (raw semi fermented grape juice), aguardiente (kinda moonshine made out of grapes), pisco (roughly the same thing that doesn't taste as bad). We kill ourselves by the thousands (crashing our cars while DUI).
The chilean rodeo is basically the same thing as the one in the US, breaking in of horses, lasso, etc. the difference is the Medialuna, a semi circular track where two horsemen chase a small cow while one of them slams her into the wall with his horse (cows are not fond of this one)
Ah, and we don't have buffalos and we don't ride bulls.

All the sand colored stuff is in the north of the country, the Atacama desert (2000 miles away)
Well, that was our weekend.
