I am a real life van wilder, I bust my ass at work to pay for tuition and I'm in no hurry to graduate. 6th year junior, what's up. Academia is a much better place to be than the real world, a lot more fun than working for a living.

Nothing about a masters degree.

And a cop can make a good money. It ain't easy, a lot of hours and the job hazards may make you wonder why they pay so little.... But you will do well. Just a shame a degree to qualify. Could have joined the military and had fun.

MA Troopers have thousands of applicants. To even be competetive you needed military for veteran preference in addition to a perfect exam score. PA troopers are similar. You can make better money in other departments, even better lifestyle. MD troopers have been getting screwed, taking money away, obviously no raises. I think Las Vegas Metro is still highest paid.

NJ do civil service exam? I dont agree with the exam and preferences. I chose elsewhere.

^ military is still an option for me. I might do OCS after college instead and go that route. End goal is to end up in federal law enforcement. I thought Fairfax County police were the highest paid. At any rate, starting 47k isn't too shabby.

Just found out that if I can pass all my classes, and get my internship with the FBI cleared for this summer, I can have it count as the remaining credits towards my degree and I'll get to walk. WHOOOT!
