GT5 Getting a major update in a few weeks

Now I’m here to share with you some very exciting news about the biggest FREE update yet, releasing in the next few weeks. It will add new features and even more functionality to your GT5 experience.

Polyphony learned that a lot of fans out there love driving using the game’s interior view, and has given some serious thought to it. With this new update, all cars in the game will now have interior views. Although the level of visual details will vary based on what car you choose, you can now race from behind the wheel of any car in the game. In addition, you’ll be able to get the 2011 season versions of the 11 NASCAR race cars for the first time.

Some of the other improvements introduced are greatly reduced load times when loading races, quicker menu response times, and adjustable opponent AI in Arcade Mode. Players will now have the option to save their progress during lengthy racing events so they can come back and finish at a later time, and can also adjust weather conditions for races using a slider function that goes from mild to severe.

I wonder how far into Forza4 I can get before this update comes out???? Anxiously awaiting arrival of my pre-order... I like how they highlight the fact its a free update, and not a pay-DLC....

I agree. Forza3 did not have the same level of feedback that GT5 offers... I've got a fanatec gt2 wheel and the difference in game play is night and day. You actually have to fight the car in GT5 whereas Forza you seem to be gliding on perfectly smooth road surfaces.

I really REALLY want to try iRacing, I just haven't had time to play anything with school and busy season at work.

i drive with zero assists in forza3 and the cars still don't handle the way they do in gt5.

with gt5 i dial in a fraction of traction control...

what i may do is show you a comparison of sayyyy....the nurburgring with the same exact car on each console... you'll see for yourself just how much of a difference there is with the feedback you get from the road.

gt5 is awesome but sometimes i like modifying the cars i have visually more than the performance. because its not like i want to race my 76 civic i just want to go low and wide.

they need to add spacer items, the ability to rotate the view when you are previewing a wheel, more aero items.

Nice! I have grown to only use the in car view. My lap time are almost always a bit faster, you seem to be able to tell the limits of the car better.

Great to hear about the update. Lotsa good stuff coming out these days on PSN. I like the above suggestions about rotating views for wheels, etc.
