...are we sure they even have insurance? You say the lady barely spoke English, not to sound like an assuming dick.

Absolutely totalled beyond a shred of doubt. Fixing will cost waaaaay more than $2k, thus it will greatly eclipse the worth of the car. Be happy if you get $2k cash, buy another E30, and now you have a parts car.

Shouldn't have been rocking that E30Tech sticker.

                        Obligatory... that'll buff right out.

Now in all seriousness, really sorry for the loss. I hate seeing these kinds of threads. Keep you head up and be persistent with your insurance company.

it is on a trip to total town.

did it happen on private property or the city street?

from personal experience NEVER NEVER neglect to call the police.
it will make it harder to prove to the insurance company if she decides to fuck you and claim it was not her.

her insurance will not be on your side even of you have her info and will make you jump through fire to get your money.

it will get even worse if it was on private property because, at least in AZ, a parking lot hit means she pays for yours and YOU pay for hers. no fault bullshit.

either way, be ready for a fight.

Thanks for the warning, yea ex gf experience it about a month ago i went through it, it was a bitch, and no this happened on city property. The cool thing is that he he admitted fault to the cop, BUT the thing that tripped me out was i asked the cop, shouldn't we do a police report and he said no, only if someone is seriously injured. I asked him twice and just told me if i had any questions. I told him about my ex's experience how she got into an accident and he asked me was her car drivable? i said no, he said that's why. He said different agency's do things differently, Her accident was in fountain valley, in the city of westminster only police reports are made when the car is totaled or someone is injured and ambulance are called. So iono hope just everything works out for me. Thanks again for the advice/thoughts.

If they got a ticket, it's on record.
But I still don't get it. Here in wisco anything that's more than 100 dollars damage requires a police report.

To cover yourself, get on the horn tomarrow and contact the officer that showed up for the accident. Explain to him that if the insurance requires it, you may need some sort of a police report (affidavit maybe) to prove what happened in that accident, who was at fault, who was driving, etc.

CYA and trust noone to do the right thing when it comes down to money.

Hopefully it will not turn sour, but you don't want to be left holding the bag if it gets ugly.
