    Vinyl Records Anybody?

So iv been collecting vinyl for a couple years now, and have been seeing more and more new records on vinyl. So it seems like they may come back.

I am just curious to see how many people are getting back into it.

First time I heard a record player, It was "Hello, Dolly" From Louis Armstrong on a 1960's Telefunken tube radio.

Never stopped loving vinyls since. That was 17 years ago now. I'm 26.
And we still have that Telefunken at the family cabin.

You wouldn't believe the serenity in listening to some Ella Fitzgerald singing in the background on the old Telefunken to this image outside the window.

IDGAF what it takes. I will maintain and keep that old Telefunken alive until the day I die. You just can't get that sound anymore. Just cant.

Been DJing for about 10 years now. Drum & bass mostly, but I love all good music. Vinyl forever has a special place in my heart.

i have a couple hundred vinyls. Mostly old jazz and blues records though. I think they have more soul on vinyl.
Looking for a 3.46 or lower LSD. Lets make a deal.

I fell in love with vinyl and hip hop since 1983, after seeing the movie Wild Style, Beat Street and Brakin, I was hooked!
I started collecting records at 13 years old, I love the sound that the dust particles make, as they go through the needle of the record player. Old Louis Armstrong wasn't known in my home country but once I got to the states it opened up a whole new sluth(spell check)of music.

Love vinyl, been collecting for around ten years and probably have 5-600....I have culled my collection a couple of times..I bet I buy 100 albums a year mostly at thrift stores and garage sales. If something new comes out I really want I will buy it on vinyl exclusively which usually comes with a digital download or a cd.
I am using a Marantz 2200 receiver, Thorens Td-165 turntable and a pair of AR9 speakers.

I have just recently fallen in love with vinyl. I've been collecting for about three months now. Its a little difficult for me to get the records, because its a good hour drive and being a college student, it becomes a bit of a special trip just to get them. Right now I have a Sanyo TP series record player, a Kenwood receiver, and two onxyo speakers that a friend loaned to me. I am very far from finished as far as collecting goes.

Another vinyl enthusiast here. Lots of classical (Deutsche Grammophon) records, jazz, but also electronic music and that kind of stuff. It's amazing how many new vinyls are brought out. Plenty of contemporary music available on vinyl, although it IS expensive at about € 20 a piece...

My record player is a Technics SL-1200. Not running a DJ cartridge though... Opted for something a bit more "hi fi" instead ;)

And I built my own speakers:

They have rubber feet on them, putting them directly on the floor did not produce good results.

you also should stand your records up, not stack them like that

Koen that is a beautiful simple setup! You can tell a true audiophiles system when the stereo is the focal point, and nothing else.

Vinyl has never really left, it's just been replaced in the mainstream by new platforms. The quality of vinyl still is not replicated by CD or mp3, it's as good as it gets for most people.

My extremely simple set-up from a few years ago, it's still sitting in storage with family...definitely need to dig it out when I can have a dedicated spot for it.
